St. Louis, MO – Gateway to the West

Flew into St. Louis for a whirlwind weekend and with the help of a fantastic hostess/tour guide, my friend Heather, I discovered that St. Louis is SO much more than just the Arch.  From guidebook-recommended stops like the Botanical Garden and Museum of Art to the unique events we stumbled upon including a reality-show taping, the rib-fest and an african art festival, I’m still not sure how we fit this all into a 48-hour time frame, but as they say “the proof is in the pudding” – or in this case, in the pictures. Always Pack a Snack

Wherever you go, there you are . . . everyone is somewhere all the time. And wherever you are, certain truths remain. My first rule of travel is “Always Pack a Snack”. Whether you’re running errands around town or on the trip of lifetime, this small step will save you and your fellow travelers. If you’re like most people, hungry is not a good way to be and can shorten tempers, limit creativity and overall put everyone in a foul mood. You don’t need much – a granola bar in your purse, a ziplock full of almonds in your backpack or a package of pretzels in your glove compartment. Trust me, it’s one decision you’ll never regret. Always pack a snack – it’s my motto and I’m sticking with it.

Here are a couple of my favorite snacks:

9 Flavors ot RX protein bars
So many flavors of RX protein bars to choose from – my current favorites are Blueberry, Peanut Butter, Coconut and Dark Chocolate with Sea Salt.

Twix - my favorite European "pack-a-snack"
Twix – one of my favorite European “pack-a-snack” options (but skip it in the summer – too melty).
